God had been working in my life tremendously before he gave me a call to ministry. During 2005-2006 I began reading my Bible and attending the youth group at Mobberly Baptist Church in Longview, Texas. It was during the summer of 2006 that I went on my first mission trip to Sheridan, Wyoming. This trip instilled in my heart a desire to serve God through missions even before I realized it. Fast-forward to the summer of 2008 at youth camp. On the second night of camp, the gospel was presented. The Spirit was moving such, that the girl next to me was crying. I felt the Lord tell me to place my hand on her back to comfort her. In that same moment, the camp pastor called for those of us who felt that God was calling us into full time ministry to surrender! God spoke so clearly to me in that moment, "Sarah, just as you are doing now, I want you to take care of my people." I didn't even hesitate! I went forward that very moment and surrendered my life to the ministry--and it all came together with a desire to express that through international missions. After counseling from our Youth Pastor (Paul Coleman), Senior Pastor (Dr. Glynn Stone), and other adult leaders I felt confirmed in my calling to pursue vocational ministry through international missions.
